Ripley is set in the 1960s. It focuses on the city of New York. Additionally, Tom Ripley is hired by a wealthy man to convince his son to return home from Italy. However, the introduction of Tom to the son is the first step to a life full of deceit, murder, and fraud.
Moreover, Tom Ripley is a con artist. He gets the opportunity of a lifetime when a rich shipping magnate employs him and tells him to bring a man’s heir son back from Italy. Additionally, when Tom arrives, he learns that Dickie Greenleaf (the heir’s son) is living a great life with his girlfriend and has no intention of returning to New York.
Furthermore, Tom then decides that the next best thing is to include him in Dickie’s life. He moves in with Dickie and begins to turn Dickie against his girlfriend.
