That’s right, there is viral footage going around that shows not one, but SEVEN suns in the sky! Did seven suns appear in the skies of China, or is this some great optical illusion? What are the Seven Suns?
The clip which went viral showed multiple suns lining up. There was one bright sun and the others were smaller suns fading away on both sides. Furthermore, this spectacular event was captured on Monday, August 19, 2024, in China. The was taken from a hospital and posted on Weibo, a Chinese site. From there it went viral. The video is only about a minute long and shows the sun from various angles. The footage was filmed in Chengdu by a women who is identified as Ms. Wang.

What was the public reaction?
The public was astonished by this footage! Likewise, many stated that they were not surprised as anything is possible in China. Others took to the internet to give their thoughts and opinions. Moreover, some of the comments included the following:
- “We’ve finally uncovered the truth about global warming,”
- “The Cosmic Bureau has fixed the issue, and those responsible have been reprimanded”
- “A magnetic field glitch must have made parallel universes visibly manifest.”

Furthermore, many also stated that due to the pollution in China, there must have been a system apocalypse that caused 7 suns to magically appear!
So what happened?
Moreover, the truth is quite astounding actually. In addition, it turns out that this was all an optical illusion that was caused by the light refracting through the hospital windows. Moreover, it turns out that the hospital window glass was very thick, with many layers. Therefore, as the sun’s light passed through, it appeared as if there were 7 suns in the sky.
According to Dr. Wang, who is the vice president of the Sichuan Society for Amateur Astronomy, he stated that “Each layer of glass could produce additional illusory images, or even several, depending on the viewing angle”.
