Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan’s Humsafar Set for Indian Stage Adaption. Humsafar is a 2011 Pakistani drama based on the name of Farhat Ishtiaq. The drama name, Humsafar, translates to Companion. The drama was created by the famous Momina Duraid. In addition, it had a hit cast starring Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Naveen Waqar, and many more! The drama had a total of 23 episodes.

The drama became a hit amongst the public. This is because of the unspoken love between the lead cast of Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan. Recently, it was announced that Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan’s Humsafar is Set for Indian Stage Adaption.

The hit Pakistani Drama Humsafar is set for a theatrical adaption in India. Theatre personality, Imran Zahid revealed that there are ongoing discussions with HUM TV to secure the stage adaptions rights for the drama.

Moreover,  Imram Zahid stated, “We’ve approached Pakistan’s HUM TV regarding the stage adaptation rights for the Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan star Humsafar serial. We are currently in discussions with Momina Duraid, the creative head of HUM TV and CEO of MD Productions, who also happens to be the creator of Humsafar”.

In addition, he went on to state, “It will be performed free of charge, with no monetary gain, as part of an initiative to promote Indo-Pak peace following recent decisions by the Indian High Court and Supreme Court. The final announcement is expected in a few days. Additionally, I should mention that Sultana Siddiqui, the founder and president of HUM TV, and also Momina Duraid’s mother-in-law, is involved in the discussions. I wanted to share this news with you ahead of time”.

In addition, this decision came as a result of trying to promote cross-cultural between India and Pakistan. Moreover, when the show first aired in 2011, it was a huge hit in India as well. Since stage dramas are popular in India, this adaptation is seen as a good step to secure cultural ties between Pakistan and India.
