White Bread | 1 lb (10 cups) |
White Onions (chopped) | 2 ½ cups |
Celery (slices) | 1 ½ cups |
Parsely (chopped) | ½ cup |
Fresh Sage | 2 tbsp |
Fresh Rosemary | 1 tbsp |
Fresh Thyme | 1 tbsp |
Salt | 2 tsp (or to taste) |
Black Pepper Powder | 1 tsp (or to taste) |
Chicken Broth | 2 ½ cups |
Eggs | 2 |
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
- Preparing the Bread:
- Grease your pan with butter and set it aside
- On your baking sheet, bread your bread into one-inch pieces and spread it across
- Bake until the bread is completely dried
- cool off the bread
- Preparing the stuffing
- melt ¾ cups of unsalted butter into a large pan on medium heat
- add in your onions
- add in the celery
- mix until the veggies begin to turn brown (this should take about 10 minutes)
- Preparing the broth
- option 1: boil some chicken and use the broth
- option 2: use canned chicken broth
- option 3: boil a chicken stock cube and use that broth
- Preparing the seasoning
- to the bowl with the baked bread, add in
- parsley
- sage
- Rosemary
- thyme
- salt
- black pepper powder
- drizzle half the broth and toss gently
- to the bowl with the baked bread, add in
- preparing the entire stuffing
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- whisk together 2 eggs and mix in the remaining half of the broth in a bowl
- fold the mixture into the bread bowl
- once fully mixed, transfer the stuffing into a baking pan
- bake for 40 minutes
